"INCOMING" God's Heavy Artillery Craters the Rebellious World... Armageddon Has Begun
'Armageddon Has Begun'
I. “And every island fled… and the mountains were not found…”
So… the Bible now uses language only applicable (literally) to the Flood of Noah, in which all the islands and mountains were overwhelmed by the worldwide cataclysm. Worldwide cataclysm… seems we are “on” to something here. The imagery figuratively tells us that there will be a “flood” of judgments overwhelming the powerful evil of the forces arrayed against the Lord and His people.
God’s Judgments here are depicted in several powerful “nature descriptions:
“…every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.” – A description from God’s Universal Judgment in the days of Noah. God’s Judgment is now going to be overwhelmingly powerful… designed to manifest His HOT DISPLEASURE against the whole world system.
“And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings…” - This phrase captures the fact that there are wars and destructions of man and nature, both intense, as always. The reference to “voices”, as we’ve noted, represents the “war of words” – good and bad – seen in political rhetoric, newspapers, media commentary, published works, including commentary through modern technology (Internet, radio, TV, and others). It also includes judicial proceedings, legislation, preaching, debates, teaching, propaganda, apologetics, people’s fears and common talk on the affairs upon them… In short, it includes and emphasizes the culture war’s war of words.
“…there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake…” - This is the greatest social upheaval ever to be seen by mankind.
“…And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell…” - This is the result of the great earthquake, which divides the world system in three parts. Those three parts correspond to the three Frogs – Islam, the Roman papacy, and Globalism (bankers, multinationals and socialistic governments, consciously or not, working with one another against Christ and His Church). See Babylon in this commentary on Revelation chapter 17, 18. However, the point here is their coming DIVISION from one another… Though they are united somewhat temporarily, especially in their mutual hatred of the United States and its Christian legacy, institutions and heritage, they will yet divide. Their power-pack preceding this series of devastating blows from heaven will cause them to divide among themselves, turning into opponents of one another in order to survive.
“…there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent…” - This is a reference to the plague of hail upon Egypt. The latter was an historical Judgment of God upon the land of a persecuting Egypt. The hailstones here reference a terrible Judgment as well
The point of the “islands – mountains” imagery is one of Universal Judgment. A world that would not believe that God had judged terribly in the days of Noah, is about to be awakened to the Presence and Power of the Triune God. The Judgments are described as so awful that the entirety of civilization worldwide will be changed forever.
There is a singular note of finality in this Judgment. Learn about what you ARE NOW LIVING IN AND WILL EXPERIENCE …
