Ancient History Lesson One
Creation and Garden of Eden
History began at creation. Even though there are many ancient civilizations that speak to a” creation” in their own legends, the Bible presents us with a history of God's creative acts. God created ex nihilo -- “out of nothing”- which stands in contrast to all other so-called creation epics of other ancient civilizations.
At creation, God began the process of social engineering His Will, revealing the power of his Word in each of the creative acts. In other words, when God gives his Word, that Word decrees performance, in this case the actual creation of the elements of the material universe. The Bible use the term “yom” – translated “day”-- and references a 24-hour duration. The basis for understanding why must be 24 is presented also in this lesson.
In addition to all of this, this lesson pursues and defines what is meant by “image of God in man” and why that distinguishes us from the rest of material creation including the animals. This lesson further demonstrates that from the very beginning, Adam Ennis help me either, as a married couple, or called to put in place the foundations for a civilization which be a direct reflection of God's Will and the beauty of his Goodness in all details of life. This will set the stage for the rise of the “culture carriers” which is really the genius of the Christian approach to life and godliness. Such culture carriers will be developed in lessons ahead. However, the nature of righteousness and the resources in the garden there were designed by God to give out any the necessary means for fulfilling is Calling in them are introduced. One of the first major “culture carriers”was the institution of marriage, which can only be fulfilled through obedience to the precepts of the Lord, and that only by his grace.

Ancient History Lesson 2
Man's Advanced State
Biblical Presupposition: the Bible teaches that man was advanced -- not primitive -- in his capacities, abilities, and nature. Being made in the image of God means that every man and woman is advanced and powerful in their capacity to do advanced thinking and establish a way of life both individually and within a society.
The lesson begins with examination of the 1513 A.D. Piri Reis Map which demonstrates a commands knowledge of the underlying geography of Antarctica. The map, ancient in origin, using evolutionary models. The map demonstrates a very accurate knowledge the contours of the geography of Antarctica at a time which there was not a mile high level of ice covering continent.
This is but one of many facts which we used to demonstrate in this lesson and in the lessons ahead the biblical worldview presupposition that man is advanced and is in no way be considered “animal” by nature. |

Ancient History Lesson 3
Ancient history: The Fall of Adam and Eve
The Fall of Adam and Eve is one most important presuppositions for the proper understanding of history. It is most important understand the temptation “Ye shall be as gods to know the difference between good and evil” and what that means in the heart of men and women. And, of course, it involves a presumption that in some way God's commands are foolish, flawed, and not worthy of obedience. That assumption leads then many women throughout history to presume to undertake their own solutions, creating rebellious worldview systems of thinking and civilizations.
Understanding this history in the Garden of Eden, gives a firm basis for what happens at the history of men and nations. A clear understanding of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil as well as an understanding of the Tree of Life, will help us to understand man's nature and the purpose of “civilization” itself. We will see that this historical event in the Garden of Eden will give us light and understanding all throughout our study of the ancient world. Cross Discipline book: The Paw of the Lion (a CD set, presenting a serious appraisal of “Satan’s methods and approaches to ruinous attacks upon the lives of men and nations. |

Ancient History Lesson 4
Romans 8 Vanity
Ancient History: “The World Looks Empty”
One of the objections made against Christian faith that the world appears to be "meaningless". There is truth to that statement in light of the fact that the Fall of man in the Garden, we are told that God "subjected the world to vanity" (Romans 8). In other words, the very beginning of man's existence, men and nations have sought the "reason" and "purpose" (meaning) of the world around them. It's not that the world has no meaning or purpose. It does. But God so subjected the world around us with the APPEARANCE of EMPTINESS that the only way in which civilization is going to find the meaning of the world around us is to look to God's Government in the Earth, i.e., God has ordained a Monopoly for his Word, the Bible.
It is Calling of the Church of Christ that we explain the world around the capital and Government of Triune God.
The truths presented in this lesson demonstrate the necessity for all of civilization to learn to embrace the Christian worldview as taught in the Word of God. Adam and Eve were given abundant resources in the Garden the. Why was that? The answer's simple: Adam and Eve were to begin the process of introducing and building a Civilization and reflected the Goodness of God and the glory of Jesus Christ. Romans 8 tells us that the creation is subject not only to the God ordained APPEARANCE of EMPTINESS, but also creationist subject to the bondage of corruption and a deep, unutterable sorrow and "groaning”. Romans 8 also informs us that the following creation around us "weights for the manifestation of the sons of God". In other words, God is subjected the creation of the world to emptiness and the appearance of meaninglessness so that His Church, once it appears in place after place, as the ONLY Truth sufficient to supply a STANDARD for Righteousness. |

Ancient History Lesson 5
Ancient History: Where is the Builder?
All throughout the history of civilization, there have been those who asked the question, "Where's the Builder?" Granted, they don't ask it in that manner but they ask it nonetheless. What is meant by this question is simple: the world is obviously well-designed but where is the Designer, Creator… in short, where is God?
The Greek philosophers asked this question different ways. Socrates became notorious to Athens because he undercut the presence, authority and alleged powers of the gods and goddesses of the country. He is like so many other philosophers, politicians, historians, religious leaders and scholars -- ancient and modern -- who concluded that anyone “foolish” enough to build such a well-designed Masterpiece as the world in which we live, and not be a good steward in maintaining it he will, simply cannot be Real.
Historians -- ancient and modern -- failed to realize that there's another option, another reason why God does not walk among us, and appears distant to mankind. Could it be that God is "offended" with us? |

Ancient History Lesson 6
There are many facts in evidence demonstrating the existence of the Antediluvian world. Scholarly debate surrounding the Sphinx of Egypt, ruins of cities under the oceans, ancient discoveries concerning astronomy... and many other issues testify to the existence of the Antediluvian world.
The poet Aratus, or by St. Paul on Mars Hill (Acts 17), wrote a poem which became famous in the ancient world. The details concerning the constellations were not observable in his day. Many of the details would only have been observable to people living at about 4200 BC! This is the one very powerful example testifying to the advanced knowledge of people prior to the Great Deluge of Noah. |

Ancient History Lesson 7
This lesson focuses upon were the most important interpretive sections of Scripture with respect to history: Genesis 9: 25-27. This section is important history, because you prophetically anticipates many great movements:
• the rise of the prominent Semitic nations
• the expulsion of the Canaanites from their land by Joshua in the Israelites
• the conversion of the Canaanites into the Phoenicians, the seafarers of yesteryear
• the truths of God passed down through the Semitic peoples and the time period between Noah and Abraham.
• The rise of Western Civilization and its dominance throughout history
• the adoption of Christianity by European Gentile nations as a platform from which Christianity spread throughout the world
• the basis upon which archaeologists, historians, and the social sciences can properly interpret the progress in the understanding of the events recorded in Genesis (creation, the Fall, the Antediluvian civilization and the Great Flood). |

Ancient History Lesson 8
Ancient History: Antediluvian prophets and Stars
There is an abundance of evidence demonstrating the fact that ancient civilizations had detailed knowledge of astronomical phenomena. However, the real surprise comes from the fact that very often, as those ancient civilizations described the constellations and the movements of the stars planets and other phenomena, they are describing things that were not observable in their lifetime but rather to place thousands of years before.
We also find that the Zodiac is very consistent in the more ancient eras of civilization -- the Egyptians, the Chaldeans, and others. The zodiac of these nations is usually quite consistent, naming the same constellations, in the same order, and often with the same interpretation.
It is clear that God raised up prophets in the antediluvian era which extended from Adam through Noah. Those profits imputed meaning to specially chosen constellations and those pictorial descriptions were designed to demonstrate to the nations the truths of God's will and the march of the Kingdom of His Son throughout the ages to come (from their perspective). |
